Congratulations to all of our Grade 8-10 students who participated in this year’s Ideal Mini Science Fair. There were some amazing projects and ideas that were innovative and informative.

Ideal Mini welcomes our Sister School, Yokohama Commercial High School (Y’Ko), from February 14-19, 2018. Two of our Ideal Mini families will be hosting a Japanese student for the duration of their stay. While the Japanese students and teachers will spend most of their time at Churchill, we will be hosting them on the afternoon of Friday, February 16. They will be doing a presentation for our Grade 10-12 students and we will be hosting a special activity/class for them as well.

Our Grade 10-12 students also have the opportunity to participate in a joint field trip with Churchill on Saturday, February 17 to take the Y’Ko students and teachers on a site seeing tour of Vancouver. For more information and sign up, please see the document below. Space is limited!

Our 11th Annual Ideal Science Fair will take place on the morning of February 9, 2018 at Ideal Mini. To accommodate this special event, our schedule will be adjusted as follows:
8:00 – 8:15 – Gr.8s, 9s & 10s arrive to set up
8:40 – Gr. 12s arrive for concession, Gr.11s for Science/Yearbook/Photography/Sr Science class obligations
8:40 – 11:45 – Project Judging, project viewing (parents, elementary guests, Churchill guests etc)
12:00 – Finalists announced in Mike’s Room, Gr.8-10 students dismissed from classes (except for finalists)
12:30 – 2:30 – Finalist Judging Session with Aaron & Ernie
12:20 – 1:38 – regular classes for Gr.11 & 12 (block 1-4)
1:45 – 3:03 – regular classes for Gr.11 & 12 (block 1-3)
**Please keep in mind that students with Churchill classes this day will be expected to attend their regular classes.
Parents and guests are welcome to come view projects and see the hard work of our junior science classes.
